culture pacer, 8 channel stimulator |
The C-Pace is a multi-channel stimulator designed to do chronic stimulation of bulk quantities of cells in culture incubators. The C-Pace features up to eight independent banks with four channels each, allowing for the pacing of cells in a large number of culture dishes. The ability to emit bipolar stimuli greatly reduces problems with electrolysis at the electrodes. Output voltage (+/- 40 V), frequency (.010 to 10 Hz), and duration (.4 msec to 24 msec) for each bank can all be easily adjusted from the front panel and are saved in non-volatile memory for quick start-up.
Typical Applications:
The C-Pace has been designed for cardiac myocytes in culture. It has been shown that chronic stimulation of cultured cardiac myocytes prevents de-differentiation, stimulates metabolism and helps maintain the contractile properties of the cell for much longer than quiescent cells. Where the majority of users still are scientist working with cardiac myocytes, the list of applications is rapidly growing:
- cardiac cell lines (HL1)
- neonatal mycoytes, stemcells
- myotubes, neurons
- osteoblasts
